Uma trama que demorou 25 anos para ser descoberta deixou o reino de Penwyck de pernas para o ar. Os gêmeos Owen e Dylan podem não ser os legítimos herdeiros reais. Numa corrida contra o tempo, porque o rei está doente, devem ser encontrados e trazidos ao país os possíveis herdeiros verdadeiros, os gêmeos Marcus e Shane Cordello. O problema é que eles não sabiam que tinham sido adotados. Além disso, grupos terroristas querem usar essa instabilidade política para derrubar a monarquia – e não se importam em colocar a vida de todos em risco.

O problema era que ele tinha tanto dinheiro quanto apreço pela privacidade. Como encontrar uma pessoa que ela nunca havia visto? Na longa espera, ela conheceu Brett Carpenter que se solidarizou, tentou ajudá-la e ficou encantado por ela. Marcus não acreditou na história que ouviu: que poderia ser um príncipe europeu. E queria ficar longe de intrigas internacionais. Só que ele se encantou com Amiga e queria aproveitar a companhia dela… Mas havia duas coisas pendentes: a verdade é que ele e o irmão tinham sido adotados e a outra era que, mais cedo ou mais tarde, Amira descobriria que havia encontrado Marcus Cordello e não sabia disso…
Curiosidade:
– Os pais de Marcus e Shane se separaram quando eles tinham 9 anos. Marcus ficou com o pai em Chicago. Shane foi com a mãe para a Califórnia. Eles se encontram pouco, mas os laços fraternos existem.
– Como Marcus, eu também tenho fobia de hospitais… No livro, isso serviu para aproximá-lo de Amira.
– príncipe Dylan está de volta.

Sara estava se preparando para entrar no Instituto Real de Inteligência e recebeu a missão de escoltar Shane Cordello até Penwyck. Mas o avião onde eles estavam foi seqüestrado por terroristas e, agora, ela e ele estavam em perigo. Os terroristas queriam que Penwyck encerrasse alguns contratos com outros países em troca da vida do possível príncipe herdeiro. Definitivamente, Shane não queria nada de vida real, queria continuar com sua vida despreocupada e simples na Califórnia. Agora estava perdido em algum lugar da Europa, com aquela mulher sedutora ao lado e correndo risco de vida.
Curiosidade:
– Tempos difíceis em Penwyck: tentaram seqüestrar a princesa Anastacia, que teve amnésia; princesa Meredith ficou doente e tomaram cuidado para ela não perder o bebê, princesa Megan engravidou fora do casamento (!) e do conde de Silvershire, que é de Drogheda (!!!) – não sei se existem livros que contam essas histórias que são citadas en passant nos livros. Mas deveriam ter, só para a gente ter acesso ao quadro completo…
– Com os quatro jovens possíveis príncipes à disposição, finalmente poderia ser feito o exame de DNA que vai trazer a verdade à tona.

No caminho para o castelo de Penwyck, o carro de Dylan atropelou uma jovem ciclista, que perdeu a memória. Ele resolveu protegê-la, a levou para o palácio e a cercou de cuidados. Mas ele não sabia que ela fazia parte da cartada final dos terroristas para acabar com a monarquia em Penwyck. Tinha uma missão a cumprir e, para salvar a vida da avó, tinha que se tornar íntima do príncipe Dylan. Ela só não pôde evitar se envolver pelo homem e não pelo príncipe. Mas se ele soubesse a verdade, eles nunca ficariam juntos.
Curiosidade:
– finalmente sabemos o que Dylan fez enquanto estava longe de Penwyck.
– A conspiração chega ao capítulo final. Aqui sabemos a verdade sobre a troca dos gêmeos e quem vai ser o rei – e uma surpresa espera as leitoras.

When the Earl receives a tersely worded note from Princess Megan a few months later, he suspects the reason is because the Princess is pregnant; after all, she was a virgin. While he had not planned to wed so soon, the idea of marriage to Megan does not displease him. His reasons for marriage do however displease Princess Megan! She is a firm believer that passion and
an unplanned baby do not a lasting marriage make. The Earl does not intend to give up easily, and Princess Megan knows that it will not look well in the press for the King’s daughter to be an unwed mother.
THE PRINCESS IS PREGNANT is book one of the Crown and Glory Series. It is a cute, fluffy read that does not carry a heavy, thought provoking storyline, but rather a quicked paced “Happy Ever After” tale that does set the groundwork for future books involving the Penwyck principality. The Princess has other sisters and a brother and it is clear that each has a story. Megan and Jean Paul are a passionate twosome, and while each is wondering if they are loved by the other, their relationship is really never in question, and it is clear that the marriage will be welcomed by both families. There are, however, Penwyck family questions that remain unanswered, and since the Crown and Glory series is a cross series line (three under Silhouette Special Edition, three under Silhouette Romance and three under Silhouette Desire), I’m sure the other authors involved will bring readers a little
closer to the facts with each release.
I found THE PRINCESS IS PREGNANT to be only mildly entertaining and much too quick to read. However, I do have some curiosity about other family members, so I will follow this series to the end.

2 – The Princess and the Duke – Allison Leigh

Nice romance stymied by poor plot details Ms. Leigh has a lovely way with words and storytelling, however, it seems her copious talents are being forced into the series romance cookie cutter format, where they are gasping for breath. While this story is adequate and does have a lovely, tense romantic conflict and hot sexual tension, it is dragged down by obvious hooks and faulty premises. Why does the hero have to be a duke? No reason whatsoever (apart from marketing). He would be equally effective as the lauded head of command of the royal intelligence network. And what family members wouldn’t notice one twin standing in for another? Even with royal protocol keeping intimacy at bay, that is too much of a stretch, and doesn’t come across credibly. The promise of Ms. Leigh’s first SE, STAY…, is withering in the restrictions placed, no doubt, by editorial demands, and
her fresh voice is being lost to mediocre plotting and typical storylines. It has been sad to see the wonderful Men of the Double C Ranch series become more commercial and less refreshing with each book. One can only hope that this spirited writer will get the chance to go back and create some realistic, layered characters instead of forcing out series stereotypes that
any average author could flesh out.
Royalty and Romance
This is the second book of the Crown and Glory series with a royal wedding taking place in The Princess and The Duke novel by Allison Leigh. I felt like an honored guest at the Marlestone Cathedral. Princess Meredith and Duke Prescott are passionate characters, written so well by Ms. Leigh.
